Abstract

As the ship running cost and environmental effects are mainly depend on engine performance and emitted exhaust emissions which are affected by engine conditions so in this study the quantitative approach is used to analysis the effect of ambient air temperature, humidity % and air filter condition on the engine performance and exhaust emission. 20 different scenarios represent ambient air temperature, humidity and air filter condition are applied on diesel engine and the result parameters related performance (Power, Compression and Maximum pressures) and emissions (NOx, COx and SOx) are obtained and analysed then both the worst and the least risk scenarios are assigned..
