Peer Review Process

Port Said Engineering Research journal (PSERJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research papers, short communication articles, and reviews in specific engineering fields. Peer Review is undertaken under the responsibility of the Faculty of Engineering, Port Said University with the help of qualified external and internal reviewers.

  • All contributions will be initially assessed by the editor to evaluate appropriateness for the journal.
  • Papers deemed suitable are then typically sent to two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The editor may choose a third reviewer in case of a disagreement between the two reviewers.
  • PSERJ employs a double-anonymized peer-review process (Both the reviewers and the authors are anonymous in this model). Author anonymity prevents any reviewer bias based on the author’s country of origin or previous controversial work.
  • Once the review process is complete, the Editor in chief is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor will notify the corresponding author regarding the final decision on his/her manuscript. The Editor's decision is final.
  • All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.
  • Editors are not involved in decisions about papers which they have written themselves or have been written by family members or colleagues or which relate to products or services in which the editor has an interest.

PSERJ is committed to providing an efficient service for both, authors and readers. Our blind peer-review system along with the editorial board of independent editors provides a mean of rapid and fair publication decisions.
